The Sacrament of Reconciliation (previously called Penance or Confession) provides forgiveness, mercy, healing, and renewal. Reconciliation is available to all baptized Catholics.
Older Children & Adults
Older children and adults prepare for First Reconciliation through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). These candidates receive their First Reconciliation just prior to the Easter Vigil Mass.
Children in St. Luke School or the Religious Education Program receive the sacrament of First Reconciliation in the second grade. It requires one year of prior religious education, and detailed preparation in second grade. This sacrament is normally celebrated during the first two Saturdays in December.
Reconciliation at Our Parish
The Sacrament is available after 8:30 Mass on Saturday mornings at St. Luke Church and at 4 p.m. on Saturday at St. Bernardine Church. This sacrament can also be received by appointment with one of the priests by calling the Parish Office at 708-771-8250.
